Wow, that's a nasty subject, eh?
Well, Hotmail went and changed their minimum login frequency from 30 days before suspension (60 for account deletion) to 20 before account deletion.
psycho_dan@hotmail.com had emails of mine going back to... hmm. 1996? Or so. Many were just little things, notes and ideas and quick messages with "this is my email" or "your account has been registered, here's your password" and the like. Many more of the 2k or so messages, however, were sentimental letters that are irreplaceable.
So: fuck you, Microsoft.
Also: if you only ever used that email in the past - please don't use it now. Use my gmail (replace the _ with a .). If you have a copy of any important or meaningful emails that you sent to that address, please resend them to my gmail, as they're gone gone gone.

On my third to last day in Science at UBC, I did "not": -skip my first two classes -show up late to my third class -go on a date that involved wrestling and naked swimming -skip out on work entirely
On my second to last day in Science at UBC, I did "not": -eat free food courtesy of the SUS AGM -run the wind tunnel at gale blast and put it's motor into overload (I suspect that in such a situation one would be able to lean quite far forward into the wind and have it hold them up!) -do the leap of faith for the second time (no snow on the trees today, though!) -see new and exciting parts of the steam tunnels -skinny dip in the pool at midnight
On my last day in Science at UBC... what will I "not" do?

I didn't think it would happen. I'd held out hope against hope.
But this is the face of Canadian voters today.
Yes, it's that ugly.
At least, the way things look right now (with only 25 ridings left unfinished) it's tight. Hopefully there'll be a massive backlash against any moronic policies, a no-confidance vote (yes, at great expense to Canadians - around $200 million, I think?), and some more shuffling. Or maybe they'll be beaten into avoiding idiocy.
One can only hope.

There's a pic of PAX up at, well, PA. You can see it here, or via their website, obviously. The guy in the yellow shirt (pretty much the only yellow in the whole picture) with the yellow stripe down his head in the middle of the crowd - that's me.
I'd like to point out that that was the SMALL hallway outside the BIG rooms.
Yeah.

Heh.
van der Kees is a wicked prof. Witness A5, the final assignment in the modelling and simulation class that I'm in: aww yeah.
Slightly (very slightly) less stressed.

Looks like I'm going to be pretty insanely busy for the next two to three weeks. Apologies ahead of time, don't expect me to be around much or to answer emails - I'm at almost a thousand unread right now, you could accurately call it "swamped."

I don't know if there's anything as perplexing as losing a kilogram of cheese within one's house and it only turning up eight hours later, after every single part of the house (clothes dryer, freezer, under the couches, in the cat litter box) has been searched.
Surreal.

UBC doesn't do grads in December. I don't know why I misunderstood that. Long story short, I won't have my degree reqs finished before Oct 31st, so I don't grad until May.
Why am I not surprised?

I once wasted an entire exam season trying to not read John Dies In The End. I don't really know why. Pointlesswasteoftime now has the monkeysphere, a much shorter, slightly funnier, much more intelligent read.

(x-posted to livejournal/~ubc)
...and welcome to another round of BZZR TREK! This evening (well, tomorrow evening, Friday the 23rd), UBC has a great selection for you. Like, amazing. Like, ohmygodI'minbeerheaven. Here are the best of the best:
Buck-a-beaker (and buck-a-burger!) beside Hebb Theatre, 4-8pm. As the name says, one dollar beer. If you've been, you know it's not to be missed, and I'll see you there. Otherwise - if it was bad, wouldn't you know at least one person who doesn't say it's awesome? Try it! You won't regret it!
Be Civil @ the Cheeze, 4-8pm. Also dollar beer, and $2 burgers. Featuring drinking competitions, the occasional free beer, red jackets, free pool, and a wicked time. I'll be there for, oh, about half an hour. (See $-a-bkr, above)
Ski & Board Club, SUB Ballroom, 8-midnight. Cheap beer! Live music! Sexy skiers and snowboarders! The first ski & board club party of the year - combined with the fact that this is the first year in five years that the SUB has allowed S&B to have sub-$2.50 beer - this'll be off the hook. Scratch that; this'll take ten sticks of dynamite to the hook, and blow it to smithereens. Kaboom!
